TDKは４月７日ニューヨーク証券取引所へのADR（米預託証券）の上場を廃止すると発表。売買高が低迷している米国市場への上場を廃止することで上場維持コストを軽減することが理由。

米主要企業の２００８年１０－１２月期の自社株買い総額は４８１億ドル（約４兆８０００億円）と前年同期比で６６％減少となった。米スタンダード・アンド・プアーズ（S&P）がS&P５００種採用企業の自社株買いの状況によると、０８年の自社株買い総額は３３９６億ドル（約３３兆９６００億円）と０７年に比べて４２％減少。セクター別ではITやエネルギーの減少が目立つ。
